Crochet Vest Two Ways and On the Edge of the Week Link Up #6

I picked up this adorable crochet vest on clearance last year from Cato Fashions, but then every time I put it on since it never looked quite right. But I think I have finally figured it out and I have styled it twice in the past two weeks.

The first outfit is the exact same outfit I had on when I purchased the vest and I loved how it looked so much the day I bought it that I wore it out of the store. At first I was unsure of pairing the ivory of the vest with white jeans, but then I liked it when it all came together.

Outfit details:
Crochet Vest: Cato Fashions (from last year). This Crochet Waterfall Vest is very similar. And this Mixed Media Duster and this Crochet Fringe Duster Cardigan are equally adorable.
Tee: Old Navy (from last year). You can shop their other tees here.
Jeans: Not Your Daughter’s Jeans I purchased mine at Burlington Coat Factory on clearance last year.
Shoes: XOXO Shoes purchased from Burlington Coat Factory last year.
Necklace: I can’t remember where I purchased this crazy, gaudy necklace but I do remember that it was on super, duper clearance (because I would never spend a large amount of cash on something so ugly)!

The second outfit, I wanted to try a sort of bohemian look so I layered a lavender sundress over a longer ivory slip and then topped it off with the vest and matching crochet footbed sandals. I wore this on a hot day just to hang out my friend’s house with the kids. I was super comfortable and stayed rather cool even with the layers. However, I did make a trip to the store with the children in this outfit and I have to be honest, the vest was kind of pain in the arse for that purpose! It kept getting caught on stuff and my purse straps were getting all tangled up on the multitude of other straps on my shoulder. Next time I know not to wear this vest to do anything other than sit around! But then I get all wrinkled (as evidenced by my dress in some these photos)!
