Animal Print, Red Shoes, and Pearls

My last post was inspired by a playdate at my friend’s house…so I figured that was a good transition to the outfit I wore for the playdate.

For playdates, obviously I like to keep comfortable and casual, but I still need to feel good about myself as well. So I went with my Old Navy button fly boyfriend jeans paired with this really cute animal print knit top that I scored from the clearance rack at Kohl’s for $3! THREE DOLLARS! As my sister would say, “That’s almost free!” And, come on, who doesn’t like “almost free”? Especially for an adorable and comfortable top! The weather is definitely getting cooler, so jeans and a lightweight long sleeve top were the perfect option.

To add a little pizazz to a basic jeans and top outfit, I opted for my really old patent red ballet flats and a single strand of pearls. I think this is one of my favorite outfits now in my closet! And my friend A. complimented me and told me that I inspired her…so there’s that validation again that we all need! So, thank you again, A.

Jeans: Old Navy (Exact jeans are currently on sale online for $17.97 from $36.94.)

Top: Kohl’s (No longer available, as expected since it was on clearance for $3! And that was a few months back.) Kohl’s does have a few mixed media animal print tops available though here and here.

Shoes: Payless (Very Old) Payless has a cute pair of red peep toe flats here and red medallion flats here. These BCBGeneration Ana Ballet Flats are an adorable alternative and totally on trend right now. DSW has a large variety of red flats available.

Necklace: Very Old.

Moms out there, what are you favorite “playdate outfits”? I am always looking for new inspiration, so please do share your ideas in the comments.
