I have an entire section of my closet that is dedicated to little black dresses…that I never wear! The LBD is such a classic look and I understand that every women is supposed to have least one LBD. So I am always adding more when I find one for a great price. But I never wear them. Until I received an email from Nina of A World of Dresses inviting me to join her Little Black Dress Party, a collaboration of women styling their LBD’s which is due to happen on June 22, 2016. So, of course, I had to style one of the many LBD’s in my closet!
I chose this black shirt dress which I recently picked up on clearance from Old Navy. It is super lightweight and a little bit sheer with a detachable black lining. I love the pleated bib and it has a button closure at the back of the neck.
Because it is summer, I wanted to wear some pastels to brighten up the look a bit. You know that I also love to break up the monotony of a solid color with scarves and long necklaces. They also add some shape to an otherwise shapeless dress. So I added this blush floral print scarf with tassels and giant pearl statement necklace, both from Cato Fashions.
I contemplated adding block heeled sandals, but then I realized that I was doing nothing all day…literally nothing…so I decided flat and comfortable was the way to go. So I pulled out my cute little ballet flats in blush which I recently picked up with rewards dollars from DSW.
How do you wear your LBD? Definitely check out the Little Black Dress Party going on tomorrow for more ideas and inspiration!
